I'm so excited to be posting the first Word Art Wednesday challenge sample on my brand new blog. I just hope someone finds me, so I'm not talking to myself! LOL
Our WAW DT is delighted to bring you another beautiful scripture wordart from Karen Murray, who so faithfully and skillfully renders our wordart from scripture each week. You are welcome to use it and we hope you'll join our challenge. We consistently have over 200 participants each week. Amazing! It's a great place to find encouraging, uplifting creations.
My DT Sample:
I've used Daydream Designs images and papers to create the card. I've included elements that remind me of a hint of fall. We're buying Jonathan apples right now and munching through as many as we can. I cooked up a bowl of them last night...just sliced them, and mixed with flour, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon and cut-in butter. Bake and they are soooo good.
I love curling up with some reading material when it's cool enough on the patio to need a blanket around my shoulders while I sip something hot. While I haven't been to the library in ages, I still have a weakness for buying books. I love to flip through magazines or scroll through Pinterest on my tablet. I just love gathering ideas, information and inspiration.
The burlap and bandana printed papers just suit a first-of-fall card. My favorite fall attire includes comfy jeans and a casual, roomy shirt or sweater. For some reason these bandana print papers bring out the cowgirl in me.
This year has certainly been a challenging one for my family and many of you who find your way to this new blog are probably friends who've known and followed my crafting ventures for awhile. You already know some of the struggles in our family...each sub family is in a place of needing faith to trust God completely for our futures. Changes lie ahead, and we've had a rough obstacle course in getting to the good part of change. Life is like that. Faith makes all the difference.
But faith is not really about us. It's about God being trustworthy and true, and we have to believe it or face the consequences of our unbelief. Doubting does not please God; faith pleases God. I've heard people say, "God can handle your questions and doubts." While that's certainly true, the statement implies that God is OK with our questions and doubts. That is not what scripture teaches.
James 1:6-8:
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.Both our challenge verse and the one above clearly state that it is our faith that pleases God, and not our questions and doubts. If we feed our doubts or allow the world to bless our questions, even encourage them, God's Word says we can't really expect anything from God. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him...not doubt Him.
We've had to ASK God frequently for more faith as we've moved through this year. We just have to trust that all the changes and challenges are in our lives to grow our faith and make us more like our Savior. I'm really not seeking great reward either. If God just simply supplies the faith I need from day to day to trust Him completely because of who He is, not because of what He can do, that is enough for me. I want more of HIM, not more answers.
I pray that you will seek the Lord diligently too. When you do, you will find Him faithful. Thanks for taking the time to come to my new blog and help me reconnect through it.

Thank you for sharing your card creation and freebie. I would of never thought to put all those elements together. I needed to be reminded of that verse too.
